The explosive absentee voter case is expected to draw to a close tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9 AM, when Judge Jonathan Nichols reconvenes the Columbia County Supreme Court to decide on arguments brought forward by GOP hatchetmen attorneys James Walsh and John Ciampoli. I'm reliably told that:
- Democratic attorney Kathleen O'Keefe has asked for sanctions to be levied against the Republican lawyers for allegedly trying to circumvent a higher court's decision, failing to respond to direct instructions from the court, and thereby wasting judicial resources;
- County attorney Rob Fitzsimmons will be replaced for the session by Tal Rappelyea, in the wake of a conflict-of-interest ethics complaint filed by the County Democratic Committee. (Fitzsimmons' recent participation in the hearings has been almost entirely limited to saying "No, Your Honor" whenever asked if he has anything he'd like to add.)
