In addition to Hudson and Taghkanic, whose absentee ballot counts are still pending and likely to go to court, the Columbia County Board of Elections has completed its initial review of absentee ballots in a number of other towns where the election was too close to call on November 8th.
Above are combined results for the Greenport and Hillsdale Supervisor races, based on data tables obtained by Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests from the BOE. These appear to show Republican (and former Hudson Alderman) John Porreca as a very narrow winner over Democrat Ed Nabozny for Greenport Super by the narrow margin of just six votes. The reported tally in Hillsdale was less narrow in the end, returning Supervisor Art Baer to office by 51 votes.
However, per the caveat above, all of these numbers are subject to final certification by the BOE, and could change. When an election is as tight as six votes, even the smallest change or error matters.
