GhentCANN, the group concerned about motocross racing in the Town, has notified friends and supporters of what appears to be a victory for their cause.
Patti Matheney reports that during tonight's Town Board meeting, Supervisor Larry Andrews read out a “decision letter” stating that “the Board will NOT make any changes to our Zoning Laws. He commented specifically about the 58 letters and many phone calls received in support of upholding and enforcing the Zoning laws as they stand... Peter Nelson and Larry Van Brunt were in agreement and support of Mr. Andrews decision.”
Motocross organizers who have been holding unpermitted events at Meadowgreens had agitated for the Town to change its 40-year-old zoning code to allow races to be held in the Town.
