The Times-Union, Mid-Hudson News and Albany TV station WTEN are each reporting that the Hudson Police Department is searching for former 2nd Ward Alderman Quintin Cross and another Hudson resident, Jamont McClendon, “in connection with the March 19th burglary that occurred at City Hall on Warren Street.”
The police notice, issued by Lieutenant Richard Paolino, says that “Anyone with information regarding this crime or any other criminal matter is encouraged to contact the Hudson Police Department at 518-828-3388 or the Detective Unit and Tips Line at 518-828-9900.”
Cross posted a Happy Birthday message on Facebook to a Hudson businessperson at approximately 1 pm today.
A source had claimed to this site that Cross, who had been jailed several years ago for a probation violation related to stealing City funds via a credit card scam, missed an arraignment late yesterday, but that is unconfirmed.
The T-U article states that “City officials said former city Alderman Quintin E. Cross, 29, and Jamont M. McClendon, 28, were taped by security cameras as they burglarized City Hall. Officials recognized Cross when they looked at the recording and announced Tuesday that they plan to charge him and McClendon with third-degree burglary.”
