The photo above was posted on Facebook by Furgary Boat Club member Michael LeSawyer, and appears to be an eviction notice for Phoenix Hudson to vacate the former Emsig Button Factory on North 2nd Street.
As reported here in November, a visit to Phoenix Hudson found weeds growing along the loading bays, and only one person onsite. The company had arrived with great fanfare. Its plastics extrusion operations were touted by Mayor Bill Hallenbeck as a major new source of local employment; and its president was honored by the Chamber of Commerce as the Businessperson of the Year—before a single job had actually been created. It appears it never got off the ground.
